About this item
- These biodegradable PLAcups (only for drinks below 45 degree centigrade) are made from polylactic acid (PLA), which is derived from corn.
- These biodegradable PLA cups are fully biodegradable and compostable and meet the most stringent scientific requirements for biodegradability and compostability, and are OK-COMPOST certificated.
- Maybe they are indistinguishable from normal plastic, because they aresame light and strong, but our biodegradable PLA cups can fully degrade into water, carbon dioxide and organic material when composted.
- Alter to this use these biodegradable cups made from renewable resources,as compared to the petroleum based plastic cups (PET, PP, etc), which create toxicity and environmental pollution.
- Please also note, composting progress is required for biodegradation. These biodegradable cups will biodegrade within 180 days in a commercial composting facility, but can take up to a year or more to biodegrade in a home composting system.
- Remarks: Please use for drinks below 45 degree centigrade, and store below 45 degree centigrade, away from heat, hot surfaces and direct sunlight.
About PLA
1. Polylactic acid (PLA) is a new kind of bio-based, renewable and biodegradable material, usually made from fermented corn sugars or sugar beets. PLA production uses 65% less energy than producing conventional plastics and generates 68% fewer greenhouse gases and contains no toxins. In an industrial composting facility under optimum conditions (oxygen, moisture and heat), PLA will be fully composted within 8-12 weeks.
